Herbal medicine based on personalisation and balance

9 October 2025

It’s been lovely meeting some of you lately. It’s encouraging to hear interest in herbal medicine and new ways of supporting health.

I’ve also had some questions about how things work and so wanted to share more about this. My approach is based on the concepts of personalisation and balance.

Personalisation meaning rather than off-the-shelf products, I aim to create personalised medicine based on your needs and preferences.

And balance not magic bullets. So rather than singular herbs for a diagnosed condition, blending combinations for best effect and addressing several symptoms and concerns this way.

There can be the expectation that there is a single herb or product for each condition. Whilst this is somewhat true of pharmaceuticals which have been synthesised with a focused mechanism of action, plants are not the same and have many active constituents working together.

People with the same diagnosed conditions will commonly have different symptom patterns. So I focus on the unique story and nature of each person and their preferences. Rather than an in and out appointment it’s an opportunity to explore things more comprehensively than you may do elsewhere.

Herbs to support the fuller picture are then selected to work in combination for best effect, being tailored to individual symptoms and concerns. So each person receives their own blend and no two prescriptions are the same. The aim is steering people towards feeling better with improved balance and control of their health. There is a focus on safety and avoiding unpleasant side effects. Prescriptions are always designed to work alongside any existing medication you are on.

If you’re looking for someone to chat through your health and options in an approachable way we can walk through symptoms based on each of the ‘body systems’ (as considered in Western anatomy where there are twelve). This allows us to see things in a more holistic and joined up way. I’ll do my best to help with medicine, nutrition or lifestyle options. I hope to get you feeling more like yourself and more confident about your health. And to help you understand your options and next steps.
